- From the industrial, political, cultural and scientific points of view, it is the most important city in the southeast of Iran.
- Kerman is very famous for its long history and strong cultural heritage.
- Kerman is Iran's largest producer of handmade carpets and a major exporter of pistachio nuts.
- The city of Kerman and the surrounding regions have a semi-moderate and dry climate, with a maximum and minimum temperature of 39.6°C, and -7°C respectively. The average temperature during the months of March-June has been recorded as 20°-25°C. These months are the most suitable for traveling and tourism.
- Natural attractions include thermal and mineral springs, recreational areas, verdant spaces, altitudes and peaks, lakes, pools, protected areas and the special desert features for adventure seekers.
- The hottest temperature on the earth is recorded in the Lut desert at 70.7° Celsius.
- Meymand (also spelt Maymand and Meimand) is a village of troglodytes – cave dwellers – located in the south-eastern Iranian province of Kerman.
- Reportedly, 10,000 year old stone engravings and 6,000 year-old pottery have been discovered at the site.
- The village is a UNESCO world heritage site and was awarded UNESCO’s 2005 Melina Mercouri prize.
- Another site with numerous petroglyphs is the Eshkaft grotto, eight kilometres north of Meymand / Maymand.
- Here there are a mass of crypts, with 15 stony, circular and roof-less chambers.
- In these minaret shaped dwellings which are very strong and durable, are chambers, corridors and pillars displaying an intriguing architecture
- Hamam-e Ganj Ali Khan, Built in the Safavid period, this courtyard is home to what was once Kerman’s most important hammam
- Wonderful frescoes adorn the walls and wax dummies illustrate the workings of a traditional bathhouse.
- Time stones’ at the east and west ends of the hammam; translucent, 10cm-thick alabaster doorways through which bathers could get a rough idea of the time according to how light it was outside.
- The reception area, for example, was divided so men practising different trades could all disrobe together.
- Kerman Bazaar; There are totally 16 arches in bazaar that are connected to the square. The length of bazaar is 93m and its width is about 5/75, at an area about 534/5sq.m
- The Rageh canyon is one of the unique and beautiful natural phenomena of Rafsanjan County.
- Rageh valley is about 20 km in length which contains beautiful shapes which made by several thousand years of erosion.
- This valley can be a part of tourist path which connects two Eco tourist attractions of the province, Meymand village and shahdad kalouts and who come Kerman for ecotourism purposes may visit this unique natural phenomenon.
